I'm still visiting my family in China and I noticed this new trend where people fly kites at night and hang strings of X-mas lights on the kite strings. Since the air is super polluted here, I never see any stars and the little lights on the kites are the only things shinning in the dark.
It made me think these lights are replacements for the stars so I drew this
I tried out a new style, it's simple and has a more Asian feel to it. I also changed the X-mas lights into traditional lanterns.
The lights are pretty but I still prefer the real stars. I hope we can preserve our planet and not resort to fake stars

Yes the pollution... So many days students (in my school) are shut inside because the pollution is bad. No going outside for them :/ But I wish to have a kite... And even if I did I couldn't fly it, I'm not allowed... (Plus I suck at it) I wish to see the stars to, you can only see the big planets on the night sky at rare times... Probably somewhere that's not a city like Beijing you can see them better but that's not the setting we're talking about.
