Need for ToleranceFrom Reddit:
(This is pretty obvious so I didn't think I need to point it out but it seems that some people need to hear it: No, I don't think all religious people are like this. Yes, I do know these are extreme cases. But the point is that these are all recent events and we shouldn't live in a world where this kind of intolerance still exists. I've lost count the number of times that I've been harassed by Christians so the next time you see someone picking on gay people, saying atheists should be killed, don't be a bystander and just let it happen. Speak up. Stop a crime before it happens.)

Is Invisible Children Trustworthy?Since I posted the Kony 2012 video, a lot of people have been telling me that the organization is not to be trusted with donations and is under investigation (but raising awareness is still good). I don't know how much of it is true, but it's good to at least take it into consideration.
Here's one of the many messages that people have been telling me. Please read carefully and judge for yourself:
" I do not doubt for a second that those involved in KONY 2012 have great intentions, nor do I doubt for a second that Joseph Kony is a very evil man. But despite this, I'm strongly opposed to the KONY 2012 campaign.
KONY 2012 is the product of a group called Invisible Children, a controversial activist group and not-for-profit. They've released 11 films, most with an accompanying bracelet colour (KONY 2012 is fittingly red), all of which focus on Joseph Kony. When we buy merch from them, when we link to their video, when we put up posters linking to their website, we support the organization.

Respect YourselfMy friend shared this video to warn other artists about how she was taken advantage of, and I believe this is a very important message that every artist should hear.
I've lost count of how many times someone, be it a big corporation or an individual, have asked me to illustrate for them for free. It will always go something like this "You draw this for us, and we will include your name in the credits. That's good publicity for you!" as if such a pathetic offer holds any merit.
There was one specific case where a guy wanted to use my drawing as a book cover but didn't want to pay. He said he might print up to 50,000 books, so that's like an amazing offer of 50,000 views for me right? Wrong. 50,000 is nothing. We live in the information revolution. Don't forget we have places like Deviantart, tumblr, and all those social networking sites. Sharing art, like sharing any information, has never been easier. You don't have to degrade yourself for some disrespectful publisher to get you art se

Coming OutIt's true, I am Chinese and I was born this way.
At a young age I began to notice this difference. I was attracted to neither boys nor girls. In middle school, I liked math, and in college, I did my homework all night long.
Being Chinese is not a choice, it is genetic. There are risks to being Chinese because society cannot accept the union between a human and a textbook. I have Chinese friends who didn't need sex because they could foreplay instruments and get screwed by O Chem instead. Now, they don't have a social life and are shunned by others.
But fear not, life will get better. I grew up as a Chinese and I am proud of it (just look at my tumblr user name Maid-en-China ). There is the LGBTC (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Chinese) community to help you be comfortable with your Chinese orientation.

Kony 2012I've gotten a lot of requests to talk about this, which coincidentally happened right along side my two political cartoons taking off like wild fire. The Roommate Adventures of ~THE SUNKEN SINK~While I was too busy stressing over the issues with the 1000 Words book and trying to fix the problems, I failed to mention some other, sillier, problems we've had since moving to a new apartment.
It went something like this:
Roommate: Wenqing!!! The sink fell!!!
Me: ...What?! (in my mind: Silly roommy got her English all confused. She must have meant something fell into the sink)
After going to the bathroom
Me: Holy crap! The sink fell!!!
The sinking sink, the sunken sink, the sink sank? Thinking of sinking sinks lol
And then the other roommate came home and was (in her own words) " ┻━┻ ︵ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ︵ ┻━┻ "
But as the first roommate put it: "The good thing about not having a bathroom sink is that you can just reach through the counter where the sink should be to grab whatever is underneath."
