I'm still visiting my family in China and I noticed this new trend where people fly kites at night and hang strings of X-mas lights on the kite strings. Since the air is super polluted here, I never see any stars and the little lights on the kites are the only things shinning in the dark.
It made me think these lights are replacements for the stars so I drew this  I tried out a new style, it's simple and has a more Asian feel to it. I also changed the X-mas lights into traditional lanterns. The lights are pretty but I still prefer the real stars. I hope we can preserve our planet and not resort to fake stars  |
