Commission for for wanted a drawing of her ballerina character, Mariya. She also requested me to design a Victorian themed black and creme tutu for Mariya. People on fb pointed out to me that the ribbons are too high which is true but I think the higher ribbons are more aesthetically pleasing so I hope all you dancers out there will forgive me on this one
New drawings not yet on dA and wip can be found on my tumblr [link]

As I new pointe dancer, I have been always been sad that the ribbons barely make it above my ankles- 'cause now I can't look like pretty ballerinas in pictures like this.. Beautiful job! I love her arms and hands.
i do love high ribbons if i had my way, ribbons would be stretchy and cross over all the way up to the knees. the reason why they only go up to the ankles is because they restrict the calf muscles and would cut in when the foot is pointed and the leg is tensed, but they're just so pretty! *conflict* therefore, stretchy ribbons is the answer ^^
I love this! It makes me wish I hadn't stopped. ( I got made fun of by the instructors because I was...chubbier...). Anyways, the colors go so well together and it just has this feeling to it. Nice job on this one, not like your drawings are never great...
