:star::star::star: If you have issues with Flash and cannot read the comic by clicking the swallow buttons, try one of the following solutions:

1. Click on the green arrow download button on the right side of the dA page,
2. Or change to a different browser (like Firefox),
3. Or update your Flash player at [link]
4. Or right click with you mouse, then select play , but you might have to do this with every page.

Chapter 2 Bonus

Chapter 1
Chapter 3

Yay! Chapter 2 is finally out after being late for.... 3 months... chapter 2 is just some more background story and character intro, the real plot starts in chapter 3 ;p (and if you're thinking something doesn't add up, it will... it will... )

There will be around 8-9 chapters total (maybe more, since I keep adding more scenes...)

Translations to other languages can be viewed here :iconknites:
If you are interested in translating Knite, please read this [link] Thank you!

Everything was drawn in Paint tool SAI, the textures were added in Photoshop, and the comic was put together in Macromedia Flash.

I'm a nerd, so I would never ditch school. Yes, it is quite a shame, especially when some countries have no accessible education. The only education you need is knowledge of labor for men and housework for women. We, who have lived under a roof for most of our lives, have no idea what it means to live outside(metaphorically). Quite a shame, to drop classes and skip school in order to look cool or be popular. Where will that popularity get you in life? Nowhere, unless you happen to be born with a magic pass called luck.

The problem with American schools though, is the entire idea of it is to make you a wage slave. Yes, we can learn good things like math, science, reading and only at some art. But, the underlining idea is to respect authority do your work and follow the rules. Then we get fed a history lesson of more fiction then fact to make our country look good when our government lies to us and kills all that oppose a threat. I mean how many people know that Martin Luther King Jr was killed by the government and they were actually convicted for it in the 1990's. We need a proper education for everyone, with basic life skills that are needed for the everyday to survive without the need of money or corporations that enslave countries to make an extra dollar. We are at a technological point that if we used our resources wisely we could build these giant turbines that would cleanse the air of CO2 gasses in a year, have a machine in your home that makes any meal you can think of, blow out homes from the ground within seconds to your specifications. all of these things have already been invented the only problem is cost. Are we so simple minded that the economy, this made up concept of how life works, should come before the planet, the only reason we exist.

I feel amused for that final note, makes me put up a paralel with a situation in my own life. In my country we've free public schools until we finish High school. On that journey in the high school, my class was blessed to have a teacher that was working along with a program where schools from all around the world can "adopt" another school. We took one from south africa which had no library, kids would clean up the school in order to repay for their studies, they would barely have scraps of papers and pens, they go to school with only a coup of tea in their stomach, and they live by it the most of the day if it's generous enough to have more food, most are orphans and leave by grand parents, aunts and neighboorhoods, they only had the brances disposed to form what seemed like an indian tribe tent to have their classes. They were over 50 in one class, in my society we had 25 and it's already almost impossible to have classes with so much people.... In the begining we started donating every single one of us each month some money with the minimum of  a euro, we made sells to get even more funds and on the last year of highschool we made them a full library, improvements in the facilities and of course new rooms for them to have classes. Yet, once there was the chance for us to have a real contact with the teacher and one student from the school. They came to us, the flight was ensured by the institutions behind this program. The thing is that the kid was a 5th grader, and had such a observant skills, such a dedicated mind, her politeness would make any of us ashamed of ourselves. Any of ther classmates where like that too. We know. But yet when there was the presentation, my mates kept on talking, saying how bored they were to be there, like in every single minute of their school life. But those kids in that tent would have just shut up, to capture every word that anyone would say to them. Every class I attended ever since 1st grade, we're few students and a lot of noise, people of the school used to call the classes by animals and beasts because it didn't seemed that we had developed and evolved at all. We were 8 graders and some would hit the tables on the ground whenever a teacher had to go out of the class and it would be heard even outside of school... beast and animal behaviour and there's nothing that can make me think otherways. Yet those kids from that school were different. they're charisma was more wonderfull than the people I knew when I was they're age. Actually I hope they all keep like that, 'cause i'd like to live in a world where people like them would take some leads, instead of beasty rich boys I knew who are still with adult crap shit atitudes. The longer I live the longer I see the generations developping (I not that so old that you might think me) and all I see is kids like a borrowed cousin of mine who showed up at home with a piercing on her nose at the age of ten when none of the parents had a single clue she was going to do it, and she not knowing the implicances that it takes to be kept on matters of health and infection. Dresses to show more than her age, more than her status, more than her height, has conversations with older people than her on internet, I've known that 'cause acidentaly she added me in once, I i bet she doesn't tell them her real age, doesn't give a fuck about school, is on a special class, not for illness reasons but it's a class for kids who simply don't mind studying, so they've less classes, and study with school directors; dresses like a 30 year old....night woman, and the culture that she embraces is Funk, Kizomba... nothing against those music styles, that's not the point, it's the level she is taking her life with 13 years, trying to go for a 20 year old but who doesn't know anything in the world. PArents won't make anything out of her, she quit studying and is now on a course but she might quit it too... I hope not, but i see so many kids that make me reselmble her that she is like a repetitive episode of the life I see the youngest taking, a life that some old friends of mine decided to dive in too and... well, they have a really complicated life and it's itself a touchy subject.

That is true... in Philippines, there are so many children who don't get to go to school as well... So seeing others who can go to school and all but are not taking education seriously... It really really saddens me...

Anyway I'm in love with this flash comic. : )

I get where you're coming from when you say it saddens you to see people here in America taking education for granted. My parents came from Pakistan, a third world country, and nearly every block in that country have children working, begging, and even prostituting. It's really sad. Anyways, I really appreciate this story you've made! Please finish! Don't leave it abandoned. :]

This has to be one of my favorite flash stories you've done so far. The story is beautiful, and the moral is very important and relateable.  And about that part about China having "no real free education"...I'd like to add that Australia doesn't either...Although it's not as bad for the children here since we're such a rich country...I can still relate since my friend doesn't have very much money and he is stuck in a school where he is bullied 24/7...It isn't as bad as what some people have to deal with...But I still wish there was something I could do for him.
But anyhow, the art in this is fantastic! This is probably one of my favorite chapters, so far. Keep up the good work Yuumei~

In Finland, you can get a complete education for free, and that includes most colleges. It's called frigging high taxes and a bit of socialism, which most Americans seem to despise. :P I though, am in a private school, so we have to pay a small amount of money, but not much. Of course, the system is not perfect, and most better schools are the private ones, but it's free, which everyone sadly doesn't appreciate. :(

All I can say is: Everyone should be very happy that we're all educated people. Even those who aren't in school and spend the rest of their lives inside a house, they are educated. It doesn't actually matter if you were the valedictorian or salutatorian at least you have lived life.

However, sorry if I wasted your time!

I'm not racist, I'm also Asian. Filipino even!

Very touching, Ms. Wenqing. :) i love this story and i love how you share your educated information with us.
Here in the Philippines, public school is free....but it for very very very very very very very very very very poor people like beggars. We half Chinese or people who can afford have to pay the tuition in private schools. We only have up to 10th grade, but since last year the president decided to change the rules and added 2 years to our education. Thankfully I wasn't included in it.
Here, we have so many beggars and all of the public schools are very populated and destructive due to the terrible flash floods when it comes to June to October. There are 100+ students in one classroom, one teacher and broken arm chairs.
That's how life in the Philippines.

My country also has no "real" free public education too..
If you want to be in popular school, you just pay a high "donation" to school.
I envy other countries that have free education.

I understand what you mean about kids in America skipping school all the time when they get a free education and other places you have to pay for it. I don't know how they teach in China or in other countries, but this I do know. A lot of schools in America don't really "teach". I mean they do, but they teach what to think instead of how to think. They teach mainly to a standardized testing system that really doesn't mean anything once you graduate, and the standards have been so horribly lowered now that kids are just being pushed on to the next grade level just to get them out. It's gotten to the point were kids don't even know how to speak their own native language properly let alone write it. Teachers are extremely underpaid and they have to put up with so much from not just the children constantly acting out and having no respect for anything or anyone anymore, but from the parents lashing out at the schools and from the those who care more about school sports than actually learning about something so important as History or English class. Creativity has gone completely out the window because everything is in a complete "cookie cutter" standard that anyone who has a different way or possibly a better way of doing things (both student and teacher alike) it gets rejected. I don't know maybe it was just my school, but that is how I feel about the American school system.

I'm not saying the American school system is worse and that still doesn't excuse anyone skipping out on a free education, but it certainly doesn't help the cause.
