I love how the drawing is a parallel to the window - as if drawing out a new world... this is beautiful. I love how much thought you put into each of your drawings >w<
A great idea very well done. The bright illumination of the wall is a nice subtly of this work - it almost looks as though the girl's artwork *is* the source of light, when it is not. On the opposite side the dark tones and smears around the windowsill are a really nice touch, reinforcing the feeling of despair crushing the girl crouched there.
~ Inaction can lead to despair, but the opposite, that despair leads to inaction, is also true. ~ Hope leads to action, and action can lead to hope.
Both of these can be self-sustaining cycles until acted upon by an outside force. Both Hope and Despair are emotions everyone has experience with to some degree or another - I think anyone can relate to this on a very deep level, and should be challenged by it as well. Looking through the comments I see some can take different meanings from their life experiences, all of which are valid.
Now for my little digression - Before the uneducated make the leap, despair is an emotion but depression is not. Depression is a mental state or condition with various causes, many of them chemical, that does not act like an emotion. In short never tell someone who is suffering from depression to just buck-up, it isn't so bad, or other facile words of encouragement, it is not that simple.
It seems as if despair is more detailed than hope...and more real. ??

Utmost respect and admiration from me!
