Electric Violin Design by yuumei Electric Violin Design by yuumei
This is the electric violin that I designed for Frey to play in here :)

For those who are not familiar with electric violins, they work like an electric guitar which means the body doesn't amplify sound (that's done through an electric amplifier) so it can have many interesting shapes without affecting the sound. You can also play silently when it's not plugged in and I just love the idea of that.

There are various existing electric violins out there but this specific design doesn't exist.

God, I love this design. > A<
I'd love to have an electric violin to play so I can practice without disturbing my roommate. She hates it when I play, so I'm down at the auditorium 24/7.

By the way, I really love this design! I was actually looking to tattoo a violin on myself. Would you mind if I used this?

This looks really similar to my electric violin tbh, only it is black and has some more details. I really love it! Would love to pimp mine like this.
Good design, somewhat similar to some existing electrics, but I guess the "We don't need the shape anymore, but for the sake of pointing out that this is a violin, let's draw some outlines and leave insides empty to underline the point" way of thinking is the coolest.

I'd certainly prefer this to my SV-130's design, but the more similar looking ones are quite bad quality for playing. It seems that only NS-Design has gone to a radical change in the looks of electric violins.

Converging with these points: There are surprisingly few notable producers of e-violins. There's Yamaha with it's SV-series (of 3 models), a couple of under $200-mark heaps for something other than playing, NS-Design, and a handful of small names you can only find in shops selling nothing but these (like Skyinbow). There would certainly be space for more on the market.
