Cherry Blossom Festival and Sakura Con!

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 10, 2014, 2:34 PM

Hey guys! It's con season again and I'll be at the Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco's Japantown this weekend (April 12-13th), and at Sakura Con in Seattle Washington the weekend after (April 18-20th). As usual, I'll be there with all of my prints, books, buttons, and cards! :)

My table location for the Cherry Blossom Festival is on the lower floor of the Japan Center, right outside the Kinokuniya book store entrance. For Sakura Con, I'll be in the Artist Alley at table 411. I was actually unable to get a table in time for this con, but a kind artist, mind-crash offered to share his with me :) We both look forward to meeting everyone and making new friends so come by and say hi! :D

It wasn't deleted. According to her twitter, it was suspended suddenly and without warning.

Er, well to be on the technical side, yes it was deleted. Though it was not due to Yuumei's decision but rather, without her knowledge.

Yuumei, you don't know me, but I've been watching you for the longest time. I finally had a chance to catch up on all of my old DAs and look at all the art I've been missing for the past 2 years.

Looking at the stuff you've produced over the years, all in a short amount of time, made me realize how far you've come since I first watched you, years ago.

I see you and your art as the voice for those who are too scared or lack confidence to speak up. Everything I've ever seen you produce makes my soul feel deep down. It either makes me proud to be who I am, or angry at those who ignore their duty to this Earth.

You are an Activist, an Environmentalist, a Humanist, and an Inspiration. I love your work, and I love who you are, and what you stand for. Maybe some day our cause or path will cross, but until then, keep on screaming to the world with your art;
We Demand Freedom.

Thank you. From me, and from those who feel the same.

Your content has been posted on 9gag.  Luckily whomever posted it was kind enough to leave your link to your DA.  Your content here is pretty awesome, for that you deserve a sub.

Hello, Yuumei! I want to tell you that I love your work and have been following it for a few years now. I consider you a person who has the possibility to get a very strong message -or messages- across using your phenomenal talent and hard work and strong mind.

This is one of the reasons I'm talking to you right now. Maybe you won't see this message or maybe you have many other problems, but if you could spend just a few minutes, I think a whole community would appreciate your concern.

I live in Mexico and right now there's this bill very much like SOPA. Our government wants to censor the internet and right now the movement is huge in social media, but it's not enough.

My concern is that if this bill passes, other countries in the world might follow and then our freedom of speech and expression will be completely eradicated. We cannot let this happen! Please, if you could spread the word of what's happening in Mexico, it would be the greatest thing!

Of course, I understand if cannot but maybe your support will get noticed and someone out there who might be able to do something will and if this gets big enough, maybe we could be able to stop this.

You can watch this video, in english, to understand what's happening: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8El2Ql…;

If you don't want to click on the link, you can also look for the video on Youtube with the name "What's happening in Mexico?" or look for it in Twitter, Tumblr with the hashtag #EPNvsInternet

I ask your help and everyone who reads this, please spread the word, too! Help Mexico retain its freedom, our freedom! Thank you very much!

You probably won't have time to read this comment but

Thank you.

Thank you so much.

You opened my eyes, and I'm sure many others' eyes, to the wrong in this world.  Many of us know that there's a lot of things in this world that shouldn't be going on.  Yet we stand in silence and do nothing.  You were brave and hardworking enough to take a stand and wake other people up about important issue that affect all of us.  You are my inspiration.  I not only love your artwork, but how you express meaning with your art work.

Thank you.
