The art and ramblings of a disillusioned idealist.

I'm a digital artist, graphic novelist, and UC Berkeley grad with a focus on environmentalism and cyber activism.
I've illustrated and authored numerous graphic novels and plushed a few books. I'm currently working on the Axent Wear cat ear headphones that I designed.

When I'm not drawing away or dealing with the unpleasant business side of running a headphones company, I enjoy sculpting, hiking, and experimenting with aquaponics.

After forever, my online shop is finally ready! :D Come check it out at :star: :star:

All prints are $15 for a single print, or $25 for 2, or $10 each for orders of 3 or more prints :D and we do international shipping~

Tribute to my best friend. You were always there for me, through sunshine and rain. When my dysfunctional family was crumbling down, when I was bullied in school, when the entire world seemed so bleak, you wagged your tail and smiled at me. And suddenly everything was going to be okay.

We dug giant holes in the backyard, filled it with water, jumped in and covered ourselves in mud. The best days were when we got to go to your favorite lake. You really loved to roll in duck poop and dead fish. I held you in my lap even when you smelled like rotten fish. I had to shampoo you twice and it was all so much fun.

With each divorce and remarriage, we had to move and give you away when the new place didn't allow dogs. But somehow you always made it back to me. When emotional trauma gave me amnesia for one year, I couldn't remember the people in my life but I remember you. If my mom had gone through with the suicide, I would have been okay because I had you.

I grew up and you grew old. Now I'm old enough to be okay on my own, and it was thanks to you. I'll always miss you. Thank you for the 17 years of unconditional love.

New designs of Ling for the reboot version of Knite :D

The new story line will be much darker with more mature characters. I also redesigned her kite to be less childish to reflect the new themes :)

The 3D models of Sen and Kai are almost done and I’ll be posting them in the near future with the new environment designs as well!

With Stolen Wings

I revisited the concept of my older painting titled "Selfish" that was made 10 years ago. It was one of the most important early works that shaped my path as an artist who wanted to explore art as a medium to communicate meaning instead of just looking pretty.

The concept of angels have always made me think about arrogance and selfishness of man. It reflects how we as humans forcefully take what is great from nature for ourselves at the detriment of the animals and environment.

Looking back to 10 years ago, so much has changed with the world, with me, and yet so much has stayed the same. Climate change is more widely accepted now, yet still commonly denied. Factory farming, over fishing, poaching, everything. Some species have already gone extinct, some are making a comeback. As a whole, the science predicts we're still heading down a path of environmental destruction. Nevertheless, I hope that in another 10 years when I revisit this concept again, things will be different. Things will be better.

Update on the progress of my 3D artist team and Fisheye Placebo!

This is a first test of a fully 3D paintover in which both the background and the character is originally rendered in 3D and then painted over by me. We're still in the pre-production testing stages, fine tuning the work process, and building a more characters and backgrounds. I'm very excited about how much faster I can produce comics from now on! :D

Special thanks to SOZOMAIKA for making the 3D model of Frey, and Alex Godfrey for rigging, posing, and rendering the scene. I have more members of the team working on new backgrounds and other assests. I'm super excited to introduce them and their work in the future! Stay tuned for lots of updates as we get more streamlined in the workflow and ramp up production! :D

You can see a comparison of the original 3D render posted here…

This gallery is awesome! I'm silently fangirling over here ^^
But I am curious, do you make covers for graphic novels or do you make graphic novels or both?
Do you livestream by any chance or have a patreon? I'd love to see a livestream by you ^^

After seeing your "stolen wings" artwork I looked further into your gallery.  I love your artworks that have a deeper meaning.  They are eye opening to a bigger problem(s) in the world.  I've always loved the concept of wings in general, the same with dragons, but never realized what consequences may come from making something special by adding wings.  I'm not sure if this will deter me from adding them into my artwork, but does give thought for alternatives of dream cosplays.
